SCA has denied CEC3's capital requests for repairs to school buildings.

One of the main functions of CECs is to conduct capital planning walk-throughs of liaison school buildings, advocate for needed repairs, and submit a priorities list of projects to the SCA each January - that provides community input for amendments to the SCA's $20.5 billion 5 year capital plan budget for repairs.

Last year, CEC3's priority list was based on:

 

• A survey of school principals

• SCA Building Condition Assessment Summary (BCAS) Inspection Reports

• Issues SCA inspectors listed as "priority 5" urgent conditions

• Building walk-throughs with school custodians, and 

• The Division of School Facilities list of priorities.

The SCA has put out a proposed amendment to the 5 year capital plan that includes projects in only 7 out of 22 District 3 Buildings.
